March was a funny one for music. What started with me having very low energy and seeking 80s synth goodness as a cure, turned into more mellow vibes as the weeks progressed. This was helped in no small part by my rediscovery of The O.C.—one of the greatest shows on television for indie music lovers, as it helped put bands like Death Cab and Interpol on the map (Newport Beach’s music venue, The Bait Shop hosted not only Death Cab, but also Rooney and The Killers in the second season). In a way, I’ve grown to love this list for all of its eclecticism…just goes to show that 80s vibes always work well, which in my book is a serious #win.
